Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs.

I first joined Toastmasters in 7th grade, expecting it to be another boring club that I would participate in for a couple of weeks. I was quickly proven wrong, as I joined the Toastmasters community, laughing and speaking my way through each meeting. Although I used to be terrified of public speaking, needing to rehearse my speeches over and over again, Toastmasters helped instill confidence in me. I eagerly await the speeches each week, hoping for another opportunity for me to improve my communication and leadership skills.

At this club, I lead weekly meetings and mentor new members with the process of becoming more involved and improve their public speaking skills. I participate in area contests and received 1st place in the area evaluation contest.
